University of Fulda, Germany
After the soldiers came the students: The University of Fulda was founded in 1974 and is on a former barrack area. The barracks with buildings from Wilhelmina and Nazi era were dissolved after the reunion. Since then the university fulfils the post use of the area. Today the University of Applied Sciences, with its eight fields, is the fastest growing university of the federal state Hesse.
Within the scope of the University development and rebuilding programme HEUREKA, new buildings are established for the university and state library, the canteen with high manufacturing depth, lab kitchen, waste building and transformer building, the student service center with conference area and a garage facilities, generous free areas with sports field are put on as well as the university area affected by the infrastructural measures it has adapted. Also the former industrial area ITRA was altered to a multi-level car park and free parking bays with a total of 401 parking spaces. The campus is accessible over a new connecting street. The care of the measures occurred under lasting inclusion of all users. All measures were particularly adherent to a sustainable construction method. The new buildings fall short of the EnEV 2009 about 50%.
The construction of the multi-level car park, the parking bay and connection street were finished in September, 2011. The construction of the new buildings and the outside areas were finished in August, 2013.
DIEDERICHS was entrusted with the project controlling. In particular with the new building measures the adopted cost frame could be kept by logical cost price increase.
